Tribal Temporary Assistance
for Needy Families (TANF)

KANA’s TANF program provides financial assistance and support services to eligible families to help with living expenses, and other essential needs. TANF is available to parents or caretakers of Alaska Native/American Indian children residing in Kodiak or one of the outlying villages.

The program empowers families to become self–sufficient so they can support themselves, their children, and their community.

Child Care Assistance Program

 

Alaska Native/ American Indian ONLY

KANA’s Child Care Assistance Program provides financial assistance to eligible households who are seeking or attending work, training, or school. Child Care Assistance is available to households located in Kodiak or one of the outlying villages with Alaska Native/American Indian children. The program is available for households with children up to age 13; children up to the age of 18 may be eligible if the child has a diagnosed developmental disability. Child Care is essential to individuals who are seeking self-sufficiency; we encourage you to inquire about possible eligibility.

Who do we serve?

Services are provided for any child where there are concerns about abuse and they are part of an open investigation. We provide services for children up to age 18 in the Kodiak region as well as the villages of Akhiok, Danger Bay, Karluk, Larsen Bay, Old Harbor, Ouzinkie, and Port Lions. We work to prevent re-traumatization for the child, provide families with counseling and other support services during and after the investigation and work to hold more offenders accountable, safeguarding even more children.

Promoting choice, independence, and quality of life for persons and families living with disabilities.
